Fedcap hosted the first in a series of thought leadership roundtables focusing on health, employability and wellbeing.
Held in Edinburgh, the first Fedcap Compass event was chaired by Daniel Johnson MSP, Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Business and Fair Work with guests David Cameron (Scottish Union of Supported Employment), Oxana MacGregor-Gunn (Scottish Action on Mental Health), Philip Whyte (IPPR Scotland), Chris Creegan (Health Foundation), Dr Hannah Randolph (Fraser of Allander Institute) and Mel Bridgwood (Public Health Scotland).
Daniel Johnson MSP, said: âItâs been really interesting to be at the roundtable with a broad range of stakeholders talking about employability, skills and the need to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to find work and find good work.
âItâs clear to me thereâs a huge amount of work still to be done and certainly, itâs vital for the whole of the Scottish economy to get this right.â
Susan Paterson, Fedcapâs UK Director of Operations, said: âOur Edinburgh roundtable was an excellent launch event for what will be a series of roundtable discussions weâll be hosting in relation to health, employability and wellbeing.
âIt was great to hear such a broad cross-section of voices around the table who are all focused on improving the health and economic wellbeing of people in Scotland.
âWeâre looking forward to joining many more stakeholders, community leaders and individuals passionate about making a difference, at future thought leadership events.â
The Compass Series is a joint initiative with The Fedcap Groupâs Community Impact Policy Institute, which focuses on international strategies to improve health, employability and economic wellbeing.
